So what is in a kit?

I have been in the modified car scene for more years than I can remember and have always said that eventually I want to build a kit car. So here I am. I now have permission from the boss and later this year the time to get going. Smile

From what I can see the Zero is one of the best priced kits currently available with plenty of back-up. So I am thinking of a complete MX kit supplied ready for me to get my hands dirty with. But I have a few questions,

What comes in the kit?
Does it come with a build manual?
Can I get a copy of a build manual to look at now?
With the £11K price tag what options are available and at what cost?
What do I have to add to finish the kit?
Does the kit come with all the necessary tea, coffee, biscuits and funds for the swear box? LaughLaughLaugh

Thanks for any replies.

Hi mate no build manual as yet still waiting for mine finished over 2yrs ago.
With regards to what you get suggest a trip to GBS factory talk to them and make a list
of parts to order with them.

I would strongly suggest a visit to GBS to have a test ride, factory tour and sit down to discuss the options, there are several to consider!

No build manual as such BUT plenty of build blogs and photo's around to use, also the experience of others and as you have already mentioned the support from the GBS team. Worth putting up where you are located and a local Zero owner will doubtless be happy to share thier experience.

For definate you will require the donor parts (engine, gearbox, hubs, brakes etc).

To be honest I would not let the fact that there is no manual put you off.
There is some info on the kit spares site for key bits and there are a lot of blogs with great photos Etc. Also people on here and on the Robin Hood owners club site are very vey helpful.
I have to say I have really enjoyed my build as I think not having a blow by blow set of instructions opens up the options to go in your own direction and make your car more individual.

At first I was a bit concerned there was no build manual, but talking to GBS and other builders put my fears behind me. Not worked on a car for over 15 yrs and found everything fairly straight forward and logical during the build, also the guys at GBS where brill on the end of the phone or email. There are loads of good blogs on the internet with quality photos, there is a section for blogs on this site, worth a look at them to get the juices going (so to speak) ! having just completed mine I can only say "just go for it"

As for tea, coffee, swear box etc... follow my blog link for the full list !

have fun and place the order !
