I have been wondering, do you / should you / is there any type of insurance you can get for while your doing the build?

As you all know, a lot of money goes into the build and hopefully nothing would happen but should a disaster occur i wouldn't like to be left stuck with nothing having spent so much!

Or is this the type of thing because it's not yet a car it would be covered by home contents insurance?

Cheers
Eddie

I've read that it's covered by home insurance up to a certain stage and then it's classed as a car so needs its own insurance. Think it was Adrian flux I read about that. I have just started mine and have no insurance at the moment but very slim chance of it getting stolen or damaged.

I have my car insured through A Plan, I think they will insure it from boxes of bits right through to on the road, providing it's all kept in a garage overnight.

Hi

I insured mine through A plan £80.00 for the year .Unless you have the kit listed as a large item on your home contents it is not covered.
I figured I have over 7k invested in it already so if the worst happened a fire or if someone broke into garage and took it away then its peace of mind when I am away on holiday.

Thanks, I will have a look at A Plan. I would rather have things covered for worse case scenario.
