Hi folks.

Well I have put a deposit on my kit and hope to join the self build masses in October.

I look forward to asking for tips and advice on here and might start a swear tub before I begin!

Cheers

another lamb to the fold.

do we Shepard them through the trials and tribulations of a Zero............ or put them out of their misery now ?

humour is not essential, but it helps at 2am when another fuse blows after all day getting the thing to work. Wink

hello CR5N, and welcome.

Thanks guys.

Been looking into half shafts already as stripped them from my donor mx5. Maybe a question for another thread but what are the mods required and any recommendations for who and where to get done?

Happy to repost if in the wrong thread ?

Edit: based in the Midlands for any info to be local / not to extreme in distance ?

Welcome. I got my kit last October and apart from exactly the entries in my blog, I've done nothing else. Should give you an idea of what is achievable (depending on your availiable time).

Thanks Chris good to know there is a local builder who has been through the process ☺

I now have my kit in the garage as picked it up saturday just gone. I have almost finished stripping my 1.8 mx5 to the bone so looking forward to the end of cleaning bits up and assembling shiny bits together ?

Could anyone confirm thread size? I just tried an M18x1.5 and it is too large.

TIA

Thanks Marlin. I have M14x2 threads now even if they weren't before cleaning them! Will post in build/specific threads from now on as helps others with similar queries ?

Proof is in the pudding, thread the rose joint in. It will fit. Maybe a thin coat of oil/grease to prevent future rust formation will help if you didn't use cutting oil while tapping.
