Hi all I'm finally getting around to organising the road trip I've always wanted to do. I want to amalgamate the Lands End to John O'Groats and the NC500. Whilst some of you will think nothing of this run out, the reason I'm claiming that it's ambitious is because my Zero, although built from all new parts, has never successfully completed a 300 mile road trip without breaking down or needing to turn back. So I'm taking on this road trip in June to try to prove that I haven't built a lemon. I currently live in Somerset and aim to do Lands End first then back home for a shake down before heading north to clock some serious miles. Any moral support will be gratefully received, along with any information on places in Scotland to get super unleaded.

Looking forward to following along. I expect a lot of descriptions and of course photos. No pictures, it didn't happen.Wink
I seriously doubt you made a lemon, even if the nosecone is yellow. Laugh If you have lemons, make lemonade. But no bending, folding, squashing, squeezing, mutilating or stapling allowed.Smile Take along a bottle of octane boost in case it's needed. No idea where you could store it though?Confused Perhaps don't take the toothbrush which would fill the boot. Have a great trip! Cool

Well done agree post pics
Also agree doubt you built a lemon
These are kit cars there supposed to be tweeked and constantly fettled
It's what gave lotus and TVR such bad names cos people who bought them were expecting BMW reliability from what were essentially factory built kit cars
Things will leak things might even fall off but what would you get more enjoyment from doing this in your zero or your everyday car
(My specialty is running out of fuel -managed it 3 times and everytime it's been while out with the other half so she's now banned and I'll just lie if I do it again 😂)

I'm hoping to do some media of some sort. I'm planning on letting my wife do the online leg work and I'll update her every evening with pictures and a little write up of the days events. I'm also going to try and set up a real time GPS tracking app on my phone so those that are interested can watch my progress second by second and the wife can nag me if I start speeding. This is all a bit scary for me as I'm a bit of a technophobe.

Use blogspot and create a blog - really easy to do and you can update it yourself from a phone (assuming you've got a smartphone?). See the link in my sig below for my blog - just click on 'create' in the top right corner and it will take you through it.

If you're feeling extravagant, you could get a Spot GPS Tracker:

https://www.memory-map.co.uk/spot-gen3-satellite-gps-tracker-messenger?gclid=Cj0KCQiAh_DTBRCTARIsABlT9MbZZy8glb5YdcmrPT75S8_YDinZzGlc6h5bXZbN_586xLPaZ3LyvTIaAlNeEALw_wcB

A lot of bikers use them when they went off round the world etc.

Good luck and have fun - would love to have time to do something like that myself.
