Bracket for Distributer

Hi Gents,

The anodized bracket that the distributer sits on top of (which is bolted to the rear of the block) has numerous threaded holes and wings which facilitated the original Zetec fitment.

The intent is to remove the bracket and cut off all the spare lugs and excess, and then have the bracket powder coated.

Can anyone think why this might not be a good idea as i move ahead with installing the ancilliaries around the engine block ?

the only thing I could think off is the mounting of the regulator.

it will depend on your throttles, and the regulator, but on AT, ATR and Jenvey the bracket is used to mount the regulator.
