Hi Simon,

I am looking at a few of my ally panels and considering replacing a couple of them when I look to rebuild. I have had a look on KitSpares but can't find anything. Do you know if it would be possible to purchase new panels such as Bonnet, Firewall, scuttle, and dash mount? I have had a look at doing my own drawings and having them laser cut elsewhere but trying to see if GBS/KS do them for pure ease and correctness (I think I recall GBS/KS had their own laser cutter?).

Thanks,

yes all the panels are available, as you have found, they are not shown on the kit spares site as they are part of the kit.

However, accidents happen, so any panel can be reproduced, including most of the old Robin Hood era.

So it should not be a problem.

A kit has a number of panels cut from one sheet, one offs would depend on the number of sheets required I would guess, so you will have to give kit spares your requirement so they could work out the cost.

Yeah I thought that might be the case. It's not accident damage, just tidying up panels due to the engine swap e.g. bonnet has the exhaust cut out whereas the new one it will probably exit through the side panel. Maybe I'll be able to find someone who hasn't cut one up yet and swap or something.

Yeah I've found a couple of the tabs that were bent for attaching the firewall to scuttle have actually snapped, probably due to being bent and made brittle through vibration or some metallurgy explanation lol.

Who's the best person to contact at Kit spares?

Thanks

I will go and find someone intelligent, and outline your requirement, will come back to you when sorted.

OK, both Steve and Will are aware, but obviously they need to know what you need.

Could you email a list to

will.randall@kitspares.co.uk

Kit spares will then cost it for you.
